This film is the conclusion to the story of Rurouni Kenshin. Like every other Rurouni Kenshin movie, this one is a rendition of the manga but put together in a 2-hour runtime. I’m actually amazed at how well they can tell all the essential elements.

When people ask me for good martial arts movies and they are manga fans, I definitely recommend this franchise. The fight choreography is really stunning and a level above most other movies. Even Hollywood movies are nothing like it. However, John Wick is very close in his own way.

This film, like “The Beginning,” feels darker and more serious than the previous trilogy, but that’s actually a good thing because the theme of the film was solemn and sad. The soundtracks are excellent in this film, as is the cinematography. Everything contributes to make this story epic.

Target: Rurouni Kenshin

They handled the drama aspect perfectly in this film, better than in the first three and I love it. The atmosphere and the emotional weight were so heavy that they make this movie better than the previous three. The enemies this time want to take revenge against Rurouni Kenshin for his time as the Battousai.

Yukishiro Enishi, the new villain and his gang, were all so scary and menacing, I loved every bit of them. The way the villains were written was just so perfectly done. Enishi and his group are exactly what I want villains to be. However, this might be over-the-top for some people, but if you love manga and/or Japanese anime, you will love it.

What more is there to say, perfectly cast and executed from top to bottom. Each actor and actress excelled in their respective roles and brought a new level of depth to their characters.

Conclusion

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final had a great ending that wrapped everything up nicely. I think this is for good the end of this run and it’s one of the best manga adaptations.
