Ghostbusters, a timeless classic

Ghostbusters was an incredibly huge smash hit on its original release back in 1984, and it’s not hard to see why. This movie is still golden, even after almost forty years.  It had an impressive cast, cool special effects for its time, hilarious dialogue, and an unforgettable soundtrack! Ghostbusters can be watched over and over again!

I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve forgotten most of the Ghostbusters movie before rewatching it. However, I’ve seen it as a kid, but that’s a long time ago. Lucky for me, I was scrolling through my Netflix account and saw they had Ghostbuster. So I’ve put it on my television.

And as mentioned before, it’s still highly enjoyable.

Bill Murray rules the screen

I forgot how much of a playboy Murray was in Ghostbusters. His playboy attitude comes to life when a young blonde comes by their shop. Furthermore, he accompanies her to her home to find a ghost/threat. Well, that’s what he is supposed to do.

The other cast members were great too, and I’m not only talking about the main cast. You also have Rick Moranis, who plays a clumsy geeky character who isn’t in the team of Ghostbusters. However, he’s over the top, so you might dislike him.

Who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters’ constant shift from a light-hearted comedy to intense ghost busting thriller, which I really liked about the film.

The special effects were great for its time, and the ghosts somewhat looked funny thou. I don’t know if we had to be scared of them. Well, probably not as they were funny looking, especially that disgusting green one.

Ghostbusters is more imaginative than a lot of today’s movies. I always loved the idea of some guys fighting ghosts, and make it seem like fun. I’m actually a little b**ch when I watch horror films with ghosts. They terrify me. Ghostbusters, on the other hand, is light-hearted and make it not scary. It’s even watchable for kids.

And of course, who doesn’t know the Ghostbusters song? I truly love classic theme songs because they’re so memorable. On top of that, it suits the movie!

I wasn’t honestly a fan of the ending, but that didn’t ruin the movie for me. You can compare it to the latest Wonderwoman movie when she has to fight the villain. That wasn’t as great I hoped it to be, but I still enjoyed the film.

Conclusion

Ghostbusters is a wonderful classic movie with a mixture of ghosts and comedy. It’s amazing, funny, with good characters, great actors, and an unforgettable soundtrack.
