Do you love movies and travel with a backpack? Well so do I.
My favorite method of traveling is with a backpack. When I go on a vacation, I usually take my best friend, and we just order the plane tickets without reserving any hotel or whatsoever.
Do we have a plan? Well, we do some research before going, and we write down places we want to see. But this is more like a guideline, and not a plan. So it’s okay if we lose track.
We just go with the flow!
But enough about me. This list is all about movies that can inspire you before traveling.
The list is in no particular order.
Backpack movies
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Are you someone who is still daydreaming about getting started?
Guess what, this film is perfect for you! Walter Mitty is not a person to take risks but is entirely different while he is daydreaming. Instead, he imagines himself being a hero doing the stuff he wants. Due to circumstances, he ends up on a real-life adventure of his own.
I’ve seen this film before my first backpack travel, and this got me excited about my own adventures!

The Beach
Going to Thailand? Or any other country with beautiful beaches?
A lot of young backpackers search for adventure in Thailand. In “The beach,” Richard starring Leonardo Di Caprio discovers a beautiful beach on an island. And believe me, the place is breathtaking.
It’s paradise on earth until life shows them otherwise.
For your information, this is also a real beach!
The Bucket List
Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are crossing stuff of their Bucket List.
This movie is fun and sweet at the same time. It’s never too late to go on an adventure. Everybody should have a list of their own and should try to pursue their life goals.
The Bucket List is not only about adventure, but also about friendship and family. It even made me tear up.
The Motorcycle Diaries
Are you a biker? Planning on going on a trip with your motorcycle?
I am pretty sure a lot of you are familiar with the revolutionary movement of Che Guevera.
This film tells his story when he decides to go on a long motorbike journey. Together with his friend Alberto, they experience incredible adventures.
Until they come back when they conclude that there are some significant social issues within the South American continent.
Into the Wild
Based on the true story of Christopher McCandless.
A young man who is on a path of adventure while trying to find himself. He gives up his entire savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness.
He encounters a lot of people on his road, who are shaping his life.
You should watch this if you’re planning on a backpacking trip that is going to take months or years.
This is it! These were 5 movies you should watch before traveling with a backpack.
Lately, there hasn’t been a lot of these kinds of movies. Hopefully, we get more of it soon. If these films don’t satisfy you, I have other methods to pick your next movie.
