2020 has officially begun and there a lot of upcoming movies to look forward to.

This list will be my personal opinion. Be sure to leave a comment down below if your movie is not on the list.

These are the 10 best upcoming movies of 2020 in no particular order.

The King’s Man

Director: Matthew Vaughn
Cast: Stars: Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Release date: September 18, 2020

I still remember “Kingsman: The Secret Service” for being surprisingly good. The second one was a disappointment for many, even though I enjoyed it.

Now, we are going back in time. This origin story of the Secret Society will take place in the early 1900s. The trailer looks powerful and exciting, I can’t wait to see it.

Originally the movie was going to come out in February but has been pushed back to September.

Wonder Woman 1984

Director: Patty Jenkins
Cast: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig
Release date: June 5, 2020

I love Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, she was a perfect choice. At first, I wasn’t sure about it because of her accent. BUT, it works so well for her. And I’m not afraid to say it, but I have a celebrity crush on her. Not only is she beautiful, but she also has charisma.

And yes, it set out in 1984. Oh, and we love the 80’s! I love the vibe and song of the teaser trailer.

Also, curious to see how “Steve Trevor” is alive again.

Top Gun Maverick

Director: Joseph Kosinski
Cast: Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Val Kilmer, Jay Ellis, Miles Teller, Monica Barbaro
Release date: June 26, 2020

We are finally getting a sequel to Top Gun after 31 years! Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer are officially back.

I have seen “Top Gun” last year (2019) for the first time. Yes, I know, I’m late to the party. Like every human being, I have not seen every movie, but it was on my list for a long time. And yes, this trailer convinced me to watch the first movie.

After watching “Top Gun,” I can say that I’m even more stoked to see its sequel!

Sonic the Hedgehog

Director: Jeff Fowler
Cast: James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter, Neal McDonough
Release date: February 14, 2020

I’m so glad that the moviemakers are listening to their fans.

The first trailer was atrocious, many fans weren’t pleased with Sonic’s look. But even the entire trailer wasn’t working for me.

The second improved trailer came out, and it blew my mind. Not only did Sonic’s design improved, but the entire trailer was way better. It got me from disappointed to excited!

Black Widow

Director: Cate Shortland
Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Rachel Weisz
Release date: May 1, 2020

Better late than never!

For many years, we have been waiting for a Black Widow movie. I m looking forward to seeing another female superhero kicking some ass.

Also, David Harbor as a Russian superhero? Brilliant!

Bad Boys for Life

Directors: Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah
Cast: Will Smith, Martin Lawrence
Release date: January 17, 2020

Bad Boys and Bad Boys II are loved by many action fans. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence teaming up are one of the best action chemistry I have seen.

This movie is directed by 2 Belgians. And, as I live in Belgium, I am curious to see how their first Hollywood project is going to perform.

Mulan

Director: Niki Caro
Cast: Yifei Liu, Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Gong Li
Release date: March 27, 2020

As we all know, Disney is releasing a lot of their classics lately. Some complaints and some don’t. I know I’m happy to have those reimaginations in live-action.

Mulan is going to be different compared to the other Disney Classics. It’s not going to be a copy-paste like “The Lion King.” This is the right approach for a Mulan movie!

Scoob!

Director: Tony Cervone
Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, Frank Welker, Will Forte
Release date: May 15, 2020

Scooby doo by doo, where are you?

Yes, I know what you’re thinking! Really Scoob? On this list?

Yes! As a kid, I was a Scooby-Doo fan, I even liked the first movie. Well, I was younger back in the days. Pretty sure if I rewatch the movie, I won’t like it as much.

But, this movie trailer really hits me in the feels! Bringing their origin story in the mix is what I’m most excited about!

The new mutants

Director: Josh Boone
Cast: Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga
Release date: April 3, 2020

The new generation of X-men is coming!

This new title seems to be darker than its predecessor. And I like my movies darker and grittier.

Uncharted

Director: Travis Knight
Cast: Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg (in talks)
Release date: December 18, 2020

This is the only movie on this list without a trailer.

I have played all the Uncharted games, and I have wished for a movie. Hopefully, they will do it right this time. Video game movie adaptations are famous for having a track record for becoming bad or average movies.

Nathan Drake as a character is so appealing, and you can compare him to Indiana Jones to some extent. I am wondering how Tom Holland is going to pull this role off.

Let’s wait and see!
